Menstrie Community Council

Message from the Chair, February 2014

Once again, a most enjoyable evening of Carol Singing took place just before Christmas. Thanks to all who joined inand also to Santa whose visit was most appreciated. A special thanks to the Parish Church who provided excellent hospitality on the evening.

All going well, the Duck Race will return this year. With Easter Sunday being on April 20th, it is hoped that the weather will be warmer and calmer compared to last year. The Duck Race has proved an enjoyable afternoon, so lets hope we can continue to make it so.

Looking a bit further forward towards the Fete Week, Monday 9th of June has been pencilled in as a 'Concert Style' evening in the Dumyat Centre. It has been given a working title of 'Menstrie's got Talent' As the name suggests, we are looking for anyone who can sing, play any instrument, a group of singers, a group of musicians, indeed anybody who feels they have talent to entertain. If you think you fit the bill please leave your name and your speciality at the reception in the Dumyat Centre or to any member of the Community Council as soon as possible. We need this information to provide a guide to see if enough acts are available to make a worthwhile evening as part of the Fete Week events.

As always the Community Council meets on the second Tuesday of each month and the Gala Committee on the third Tuesday in the Dumyat Centre. Everyone would be made very welcome and we are keen to listen to peoples views and suggestions.

Stan Paterson, Chairman
Menstrie Community Council
