Items are covered elsewhere on the Agenda.

4. Community Police Officers' report

A written report was circulated by PC Smith giving an update on crime since the last meeting. Since the last meeting there have been 5 minor road traffic offences and 1 crime report. The crime report has been dealt with and will be monitored.

There have been very few youth-related calls since last month. However there were problems of youths hanging about the Dumyat Centre and causing a disturbance. The youths were spoken to and a consensual search was carried out. This approach to youth issues will be continued for the foreseeable future.

A number of complaints have been received in relation to parking issues at the Primary School. This is happening when the parents are dropping off and picking up the children from the school. This will be monitored and advice given to the parents abusing the road signs and markings. If the problem continues and the signs and markings continue to be ignored then fixed penalty notices will be issued.

Further discussion took place over this matter and it was highlighted that parents are now dropping off and picking up children at the garages at the bottom of Elmbank/Forthvale. This is causing problems for children crossing the road at this point during school times. PC Smith will monitor this situation and report back to the next meeting. We will contact the Council asking whether continuous lines could be marked which would be effective during school times or there be somewhere for the children to cross safely at this point.

5. Treasurer's report

The current balance on all accounts: £7,466.18.
This includes the transfer of £1,808.31 from the Wood Account.
It was agreed that we should go ahead with the transfer of our funds to Unity Trust Bank.

6. Councillors' reports

In the absence of both Councillors there was no report.

However, LS reported that in spite of the agreement being minuted that the trees in Windsor Street would be removed and replanted with a more suitable species, this has not been carried out by the Council. At the Councillor's request a member of the Community Council had personally spoken to each householder telling them that the trees were coming down. Instead they have only lopped some of the top branches which will not rectify the problem with the crows as they will return to the trees.

LS is in discussion with the Council in order to resolve this matter. It is important that the Community Council be seen by their local community as trustworthy.

7. Correspondence

Correspondence was read and actioned.

8. Community woodland

Funding has been secured from Paths for All and will be used to purchase a metal shed, branch cutter, spades and other implements for the woodland. As a condition of the grant these articles have to be purchased by the end of February. Volunteers will be needed to erect the shed.
