Community Policing Report, 8th November 2016

Introduction

I am Police Constable 421 Lee Allen, the Community Constable for Clackmannanshire West - (Tullibody / Glenochil / Cambus / Menstrie). The support officer for your Ward area is Community Constable Brentt Chambers, 933. You can contact me by calling 101 or by email at:
leigh.allen@scotland.pnn.police.uk
brentt.chambers@scotland.pnn.police.uk

Since your last meeting on 11th October 2016 we have recorded 5 crime reports. This includes 3 undetected crimes and 2 detected crimes. Crime rate and calls continue to remain low.

Anti-social behaviour

No crimes recorded for anti social behaviour in the Menstrie area. Youth related calls:

Vandalism

Three crimes of vandalism in our area.

Violence

No crimes of violence recorded in the area.

Acquisitive crime

No crimes to report.

Road traffic

20th Oct: Suspect drink driver traced and procedures carried out at Dumyat Road, Menstrie. Awaiting analysis of samples obtained.

Other incidents of note

22nd Oct: Fail to comply with conditions of bail at The Charrier. One male arrested.

Other community issues

Speed camera checks by PC Allen at Menstrie Brae. No concerns raised for random checks. Roads Policing Unit aware and will continue to Monitor where appropriate.

Voucher Fraud: There has been an increase in reports of voucher frauds whereby a telephone call is received from someone pretending to be from official Government Department. The caller then insists that money is to be paid to them or further action would be taken against the recipient of the call. The caller then requests that payment is made via a voucher system which can be purchased from local stores and the identification number passed to the caller, giving them access to the funds purchased by the voucher.

NO Government department would ask for payment to be made in this manner

If a call is received like this then please treat this as suspicious and contact Actionfraud.police.uk or your local police office.

ATM scams: Recent report of an ATM having been targeted by criminals. Please conduct your own checks of the machine ensuring no obvious devices having been placed. Run hand around the system and check surroundings of persons acting suspiciously.

COVER YOUR PIN!

If there are any suspicions of a machine having been tampered with or persons acting suspiciously in the vicinity please report the matter to police immediately and do not use the machine. Please pass this information of local members of our community and help spread the word.

Housebreakings: Enquiry continuing by dedicated officers. No further update at this time.

Social Media

Facebook and Twitter: Community Messages can be placed on local Police sites via the Community Sergeant, who is PS Catherine Sharkey 089, or PS Graham Cadden 856 based at Alloa Police Office.
