Letters to The Community Council

Petition to keep Alva Swimming Pool and Sports Hall

George Horsburgh, Chair of Alva Communty Council (ACC) has sent the following letter to Les Sharp, Menstrie Community Council Chair.

ACC would ask that you help keep Alva Swimming Pool and Sports Hall open for the use of all the user groups and children from the Hillfoots and other areas of the county.

The funding that had been available for renovating this facility has been diverted to create yet more office space at Kilncraigs as the council intend to sell off Greenfield.

Please send letters from individuals within the community council to Clacks Council.

Our children need swimming pools and if this facility is lost to the Hillfoots, there will never be a replacement.

We, ACC, are organising a petition to try and retain these facilities and hope to have the support of all community councils.

George Horsburgh

Les Sharp comments:
I received this from George. I fully support their objections and as Chair feel we should support the cause.

The editor adds:
Clacks Council may be contacted at: Clackmannanshire Council, Greenfield, Alloa, Clackmannanshire, FK10 2AD

Clacks Council, meanwhile, continue to promote the facilities at the Alva complex on their website.
