New School Year, 2011
The Autumn term is now well underway and I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all parents/carers, pupils and staff for making my start at Menstrie Primary a most enjoyable and welcoming one. Thank you.
This year we welcome some new staff members to the school. Miss Amy Beveridge and Ms Wendy McCheyne join the nursery as Early Years workers. Miss Emma Hedges joins the primary staff and will teach the P2 class and we welcome back Mrs Mandy Murray, who has been on maternity leave.
Over the coming months there will be a number of school events that parents/carers and friends of the school will be invited to attend.
On Thursday 8th September parents/carers and grandparents were invited into the primary classrooms with the children to meet with their teachers. There was an opportunity for parents to have a look at their child's class and the work that they have been doing. There was a Nursery Information night on this night with parents being invited to visit the nursery from 7 - 8pm. The nursery staff were there to give a short and informal presentation.
On Saturday the 1st October the nursery have arranged to take part in a bag pack at Asda in Alloa. If anyone would like to get involved with this activity to help raise funds for the nursery please contact Mrs Stewart in the nursery.
On Monday 3rd October there will be a Rag Bag collection at school. Rag Bag gives you the perfect excuse to do some 'clearing out' and recycle some goods which will not only benefit the environment, but will also help to boost school funds.
On Thursday the 6th October there will be a coffee evening in the school from 7 - 8pm. Parents/carers and friends of the school are invited to this event. I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible on this night.
School will close on Friday the 14th October at 3pm for the October holidays.
If at any time you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
